WHAT:

REQUIREMENTS:

Some of the most thrilling parts of a story are when the words aren't enough and the actor lets their body do the talking! The underlying techniques that allow this to happen safely and with gusto are a great way to enrich your abilities in all other storytelling venues! This Stage Combat FUNdamentals workshop is an opportunity to explore the exciting world of storytelling through stage combat. Just as practicing dance technique and learning a new song can prepare you for your next big audition, so can learning the skills of stage combat. How? By discovering this fun way of developing your acting and storytelling abilities through staged fighting.

Not into fighting? Great – neither are we! We want to dive deep into the world of stage combat storytelling, and have a great time while doing it.

By the end of the 2-hour workshop, each student will design and develop their own fight. After taking this workshop in fight fundamentals, students will be ready for "Sword FUNdamentals" where they will begin learning the sword positions and techniques used from Broadways to the Silver Screen.

None! This workshop is for beginners of all ages interested in learning the basics of stage combat. ALL are welcome to join. We simply ask that all workshop participants come dressed for movement.
